Bespoke Soft Furnishings for Country Estates
This year we have continued to work closely with Interior Designers on a number of projects, most notably supplying all soft furnishings for the manor house and estate office and cottages at an Oxfordshire country estate, for an interior designer’s client.
Our technical excellence on the ground with Moghul Director Charlie White personally measuring and managing the installation of every soft furnishings element on the project, combined with the attentive support from Ali, Catharine and Serena in the office, enabled us to deliver all soft furnishings to a challenging time scale.
No Challenge too Tricky!
As with all such projects, a number of elements had to be successfully implemented:
– carrying out a full technical measure over several site visits
– advice on the suitability of window treatments and best hardware options
– problem solving technical challenges – from resewing pleats following last minute design changes on site, climbing through roof spaces to obtain secure fixings for heavy bed canopies through to designing bespoke curtain poles and other hardware
– installation of all hardware, upholstery, valances, window seats etc, hanging curtains and blinds and steaming where necessary
Particular challenges on this project included designing a completely bespoke shower curtain system for the roll top bath in one of the ensuites, attaching an extremely heavy bed canopy to a ceiling by screwing it into roof joists located by climbing into the roof space, and recycling old picture rails into beautiful antique bronze poles (below).
